In 2017 a new model for allocating special education teachers to mainstream primary schools was introduced. This new model of SEN support replaced the old Resource Hours and Learning Support models, which were used to provide support for pupils with special educational needs in the past. Now children with identified needs are supported on a continuum of support basis, whereby the children with the greatest level of need get the greatest level of support. Also there is more of an emphasis on inclusive education, so we are using lots of collaborative teaching and learning strategies to support the learning of all pupils in Darrara NS.
